Existential Therapy

The existential approach is highly individual, and each client arrives for different reasons. Our first session will be about getting to know each other, and addressing what it is that is bringing you to therapy, to ensure I am the right person to help you. If it’s a match, we’ll find a regular time and work together to help you with whatever brings you to therapy.

I have clinical experience working with a wide range of concerns, including: anxiety, depression, self-esteem, lack of confidence, lack of purpose, feeling stuck, relationship issues, grief, loss, heartbreak, divorce, the challenges of aging, illness, self-harm and destructive behaviours, and suicidal ideation. I also have particular expertise working with addiction, having completed a specialist placement within the NHS. Whatever you are dealing with, I will offer a safe place to talk it through, and we will work together to help you feel better and move forwards.

Sessions are £90, although I offer limited concessionary online rates for low incomes and students. Please feel free to look over the FAQs below, and if you have any further questions you can drop me a line at any time on jess@jessicaguisetherapy.com.

FAQs

How do we start?

I offer a free consultation online before the first session, so that you can get a sense of me and how I work, and we can establish if it’s a good fit. If you’d like to move forwards, we’ll find a regular slot where we can meet in person or online. I will also talk you through how confidentiality works in therapy.

Do I need to prepare anything?

There is nothing to prepare for a therapy session. Come as you are, and I look forward to meeting you

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required depends on what your goals are for therapy and how you feel we are progressing. I offer short term, long term and open ended therapy. Usually we’ll begin working and check in on our progress as we go.

Is online or in person therapy better?

Both in person and online sessions have been shown to be hugely beneficial. Online work offers more convenience, but being with your therapist in the room can be a powerful element of the work. We can talk about this in your initial consultation if you are unsure, and establish the best approach for you.

What are your fees?

Sessions are £90 for a 50 minute session.

I offer concessionary rates online for those seeking work or on low incomes.

What information do you need from me when I book ?

I will need your contact details and GP details (in case of emergency). If you’d like to tell me a little about why you are looking for therapy then please do, but in general we will address this in the session itself.
